In a world where people tell you that actions speak louder than words, that talk is cheap, Quarrel comes, throws a dictionary at you, and says nay. It tells you to take every word you’ve ever learned into consideration, look at the 8 letter arsenal in front of you and make a word powerful enough to crush your opponent; in a cute, adorable, tropical sort of way. Developed by Denki and published by UTV Ignition Entertainment, Quarrel is essentially the spunky adorable love child of Scrabble and Risk; and while this at first sounds very odd and maybe even a bit ridiculous, don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. I do however suggest that you look over your notes from 12th grade English class, in the hopes that you still remember the English language. All those years of Facebook and Chat-roulette really ruin a man’s ability to write well.

Yes indeed, 16 days left until the release of the Vita, and the last couple of days have been interesting ones. From visiting the Vita Hill Social Club to changing my pre-order, and convincing friends to get it day one,. I’ve been at work preparing myself for this moment.
Not too ago Sony unveiled that they had a new Vita bundle, aside from the First Edition Bundle we already knew about. It will include an 8gig memory card, 256mb of 3G service, and a free Playstation Network game. needless to say it shook things up a bit. I myself became impulsive and realized that this would be my opportunity to have a good start with this new handheld, and save some money while I’m at it.
I had originally pre-ordered the wifi version of the Vita on GameStop.com for in store pick up. Seemed like the best option for my limited financial resources, but the problem was I didn’t have any money budgeted to buy a game or memory card on day one. So I would have a brand new Vita, but nothing to do with it which is a damn shame. This is where Sony decided to save my ass with the Launch Bundle. It seemed like my problems were solved with this new option available. I went straight to GameStop.com to find out how to switch my pre-order; unfortunately, since it chose in store pickup I had to physically go to the store and inquire about it there. When I got there what I dreaded most was a reality, If I wanted to cancel my existing reservation, I would have to put down 50 bucks, something I really wasn’t looking forward to.
The reason I do pre-orders online is to save myself the money I’d have to put down in an actual store. I prefer to pay it all at once, because I never know when I’ll need those $5, or in this case $50 for something before the item is actually available. I decided to look online instead, and within five minutes I found the same bundle on Amazon.com, with free day of release shipping. I decided to avoid the down payment and pre-order the Launch bundle on Amazon.
It seemed everything was back in order, until I realized that the free PSN game you receive isn’t redeemable until 30 days after you start your 3G service. This had me in almost the same spot I was in before, a Vita, but no game to play. Fortunately I would have a memory card so the extra money I would have to shell out would be less. Looking for the cheaper games available(meaning i found them for less that 40 dollars), I’m planning on getting Wipeout 2048 as my first game. This is my current plan, now lets hope nothing else gets in my way of acquiring a Vita at Launch.

I also took some time to visit the Vita Hill Social Club in NYC. I was there briefly, however, because they were closing early for an event. have no fear, I’m going back thee soon and will have a full set of photos for you guys. Vita Hill NYC seems to be in the middle of nowhere. Its 5 minutes away from the Essex/Delancey stop on the J,M, and F trains, and There really isn’t much going on in the surrounding area. Somehow I think this location was purposefully chosen, In order to give it a more exclusive, underground type of feel. The inside is lovely, you walk in, register or sign in, and find yourself in what looks like a cafe or lounge. there are comfortable seating areas, Tv monitors in the back with PS3’s set up, and most importantly, tables all with fully functioning Vitas waiting for you to touch them; and touch them you will.
Check out the Vita Events page to find out what’s happening in an area near you. Events range from tournaments, Demo days for specific games, even Playboy Bunny guest appearances. Sony is doing all it can to get people interested in its newest handheld. Makes me wonder, maybe if Nintendo could pull of things like this, the 3DS would’ve had a successful launch?
it’s still too early to tell anything though.the Vita hasn’t launched yet, So who’s to know how successful it will actually be. I’m hoping for the best here, but know better than to rule out the worst. Lets see how it goes.

The reason I start my journey now is because, well I’ve started my 6 week budgeting plan to pay for the damn thing. Yes the first $75 Has been moved into my cobweb filled savings account of the roughly $272 (that’s tax included) I’m going to need to get my hands on what is either going to be the latest evolution of handheld game systems; or the last manifestation of it’s kind in the mobile gaming universe.
Yes, with Tablets and smartphone rapidly creeping into the gaming environment, This generation of handhelds could be the last, of it’s kind at least. I’m very optimistic, however; so much so that I am doing what I can to make my day one purchase happen.
The gaming community has had quite a slew of polar opposite opinions about The Vita, Price being the main concern. Sure, The 3DS is doing very well now, but that’s after a very large price cut it was forced to do because it wasn’t selling in the first place. So where others scream nay in the face of new technology, I plead patience, faith, and keen observation, as this year, In my opinion, will be a very important one for the video game world.
All that said, back to the point. The North American Vita launch is fast approaching, and To Asgard! will be on it like white on rice. If only this was a legitimate large video game blog, maybe we would have one in our hands for free. But sadly I am just working college student living in Brooklyn, saving up my gold coins just like everyone else.
I’ll keep the world posted on my journey to the new lands of handheld gaming.
Is it…could it be… 6 player Co-op for RE6? According to the product listing on Xbox.com, That would be a yes.
The other features seem standard, but 6 player Co-op is something unheard of in the Resident Evil Franchise.
6 players for the 6th Resident Evil? were you supposed to acquire a friend per RE game with a number next to it? Do you even have 6 friends at all?
Those questions are yet to be answered. but for the people with a friends list thriving with over 2 people, the option to kill zombies hand in hand will be available to you at last.
(The release date is wrong, by the way. in case you didn’t notice. The game is said to be released some where around November.)
The trailer that everyone has been waiting for has arrived. Capcom has finally revealed Resident Evil 6, and fans on the series will be excited to see the return of Leon and Chris!
Now, there seems to be a number of things going on in this game’s story. I mean it looks more like an action movie than a horror game at times…but let’s not judge so early. We’ll wait until it ends up in our hands to give a verdict.
In the mean time, enjoy the horrific beauty that is Resident Evil 6.
Straight from Sony Liverpool comes a trailer for Wipeout 2048 that depicts the history of car racing; From early cars, to F1 cars, all the way to the Anti-Gravity seen in the world of Wipeout.
February 22nd is fast approaching, let’s all hope we get paid in time for the Vita’s release.
Hey to all followers and random people who may or may not actually pass by this blog,
It may seem like To Asgard has come to some what of a halt; this isn’t entirely true. They main reason posts and feature haven’t been going up as frequently as I intended is because of many factors occurring in my other life I guess you can say. I Have a day job, I also go to school, and with finals and papers, and galleries to put on I have been very heavily distracted. oh and Skyrim plays a part in all of this too, but more on that later.
I’m currently finishing up a gallery the organization I work for is putting together themed around Liberation, and freedom, OWS, all that good stuff. It’s been a hassle; Teaching Spoken word, to teens that live in Brooklyn (not cool hipster Brooklyn, I live and work in Bushwick.) to actually want to write is difficult enough, let alone trying to get them to put together pieces for an event. But hey, Ce la vie.
Also, school is finally over, finals are done with, and I will have much more time to get content ready to put up. a review of The Old Republic should be coming soon Black Jesus willing. Also other features and current events that I haven’t had the time to write about; but all in due time I suppose. Hang in there folks, We’re still breathing, and still have things coming your way.
-To Asgard!
The 3DS Second Circle Pad will reach America pretty shortly, apparently, but only at Gamestop stores and online.
Resident Evil: Revelations and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater will be compatible with the device with more titles to be compatible along the way.
Remember, this thing has a 480 hour battery life, too.

Skyrim Confessions is a blog dedicated to just that: Posting confessions of gamers who have been sucked in, and have become a part of the Skyrim world.

Now at first you might think there wouldn’t be anything interesting to be said by a gamer who’s been hiding from the sun this last month; but it’s quite the opposite. Seeing the emotional connections some of these players have to the characters and stories in Skyrim is amazing. People get angry, people cry, become devestated when thier companion dies, honoured when they become leader of a guild. Skyrim has truly proven itself to be one of the most immersive games ever created, and this blog gives you a sense of just how touched people are by it.
Make sure to check it out, and even submit your own confessions!
